Responsibilities:

  • Takes the lead on employee education and outreach initiatives relative to health and welfare program offerings including internal and external customers.
  • Collaborates with Benefits Manager to ensure that open enrollment information is disseminated to stakeholders.
  • Works to support the administration of all insurance plans including Medical, Dental, Life, Flex Accounts, STD, LTD and Dependent Life.
  •  Administers bi-weekly arrears in accordance with the payroll cycle to ensure benefit premium deductions are processed for employees returning from leave.
  • Administers the tuition reimbursement benefit program, explaining and verifying eligibility requirements for employees, reviewing forms for completeness and approval and coordinating the reimbursement with payroll.
  • Collaborates with the retirement plan provider regarding 403(b) changes to include enrollments, loans, withdrawals, etc.
  • Works with employees in reviewing their bills/statements received from medical providers, educating them in the process.
  • Monitors eligibility bi-weekly reports to ensure employee enrollment information maintained in the various internal and external applications and databases are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Verify employee eligibility for long-term, short-term, FMLA and other company sponsored leave programs. Assist employees with the completion of leave applications and ensure understanding of plan criteria and benefits. Distribute correspondences as plans dictate.
  • Responsible for the monthly billing for all benefit plans.
  • Administer the metro-dade bus pass program, explaining program criteria to inquiring employees, collecting and reviewing forms for completeness, coordinating with representatives from Metro-Dade Transit to research and resolve issues (i.e. redistribution of bus passes, replacement of lost or stolen cards, etc.).

 

 Qualifications:

  • BA / BS in HR related field preferred but not required.
  • 2 years of HR Benefits experience, prior experience working with insurance required.
