General Summary

This position is responsible for all Building Materials sales including natural stone, landscaping and building materials.

Essential Job Accountabilities 

1. Comply, understand, and drive Graniterock’s Core Values, including safety initiatives to ensure “Safety before All Else."
2. Develop new accounts and maintain existing accounts to drive business goals by providing Graniterock’s world class customer service.
3. Prepare and present accurate sales proposals and quotes to prospective or current customers.
4. Provide accurate information to customers regarding proper materials and prices as well as technical information regarding application and specifications.
5. Respond to customer concerns and Investigate product service discrepancies to ensure the highest level of customer service.
6. Develop and maintain a collaborative partnership with the Architects, Suppliers and Public Agencies in our marketplace to secure sales in the marketplace.
7. Participate in industry activities to represent Graniterock.

Education & Work Experience

·         High school diploma or equivalent

·         Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management preferred

·         5+ years’ experience in Sales, construction, building materials, landscaping design, or concrete  

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

·         Knowledge of building materials, landscape supplies, and construction

·         Familiarity with annual sales cycle

·         Ability to analyze market data and apply it to sales strategy

·         Knowledge of geographic area, local contractors and dealers

·         Good listening skills, sense of urgency and follow through

·         Strong time management skills with ability to thrive without constant supervision

·         Strong math accuracy

·         Comfortable working in teams and independently

·         Proficiency with all MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

·         Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.

·         Understanding of construction site and plant safety requirements

·         Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
