The Role   
The SciTech Scity Healthcare Program Manager will be responsible for managing all components of the Healthcare Innovation Engine, including roundtables and pilots. The role will be responsible for managing the sourcing of startups, serving as the project manager for all pilot projects with health systems and community partners, and supporting the international landing pad program. The role demands exceptional communication, organization, and an ability to juggle multiple priorities.

The Healthcare Program Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of the SciTech Innovation Hub and work closely with the Executive Director and the rest of the SciTech Scity team.

About SciTech Scity   
Liberty Science Center is developing a “Science City of Tomorrow” in Jersey City—a 30-acre innovation campus called SciTech Scity devoted to using science and technology to address humanity’s greatest challenges, from inadequate healthcare to climate change, and create a better future for all of us.  The new campus, including the existing Liberty Science Center, home of the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, will be officially named the Frank J. Guarini Innovation Campus and is scheduled to open in 2026.

What You’ll Do
The Healthcare Program Manager’s responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the business but will focus on some combination of the following essential functions.

Healthcare Pilot Initiatives (50%)

  1. Serve as project manager for all healthcare pilots—developing timelines, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring execution from contracting through evaluation
  2. Lead startup sourcing aligned with stakeholder needs—overseeing consultant-led market scans, managing outreach, and tracking sourcing milestones
  3. Drive reporting and communications for all pilot initiatives—providing regular progress updates, surfacing risks, and identifying additional engagement opportunities
  4. Manage a centralized project database of healthcare startups and actively maintain a pilot pipeline aligned with programmatic goals

Startup Sourcing (30%)

  1. Analyze startup sourcing trends and gaps to identify high-potential opportunity areas based on health system and community needs
  2. Prepare summary reports and recommendations on opportunity areas for startup engagement, aligned with strategic priorities and stakeholder feedback
  3. Coordinate stakeholder input to refine startup selection criteria, ensuring alignment with program goals and scalability potential
  4. Identify opportunities for corporate partner involvement and coordinate their roles and contributions

Healthcare Innovation Engine Roundtable (10%)

  1. Support the Healthcare Innovation Engine’s quarterly roundtable, working closely with Liberty Science Center’s Marketing and Events Teams
  2. Serve as the point of contact for all innovators leading up to quarterly roundtables
  3. Coordinate post-roundtable engagement—managing event planning, stakeholder follow-up, and documentation to support program continuity

Other responsibilities (10%)

  1. Support the coordination of other events related to the SciTech Scity Healthcare programming goals
  2. Support branding and marketing for the program, including social media marketing in collaboration with the marketing team
  3. Contribute to grant writing and funding opportunities as needed

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare landscape, including innovation trends, regulatory frameworks, and payment models
  2. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and manage multiple priorities at once
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse stakeholders including clinicians, executives, startups, and policymakers

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience
  2. Experience in Healthcare (payer, provider, policy, research, or startup)

Classification and Schedule
The SciTech Scity Healthcare Program Manager is a full-time position that is exempt according to FLSA overtime provisions. This role is a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days/week on-site with additional days on-site on an as-needed basis subject to business needs. Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
The base compensation for this role is estimated to be in the range of $70,000-$80,000. The final salary offer will be commensurate with abilities, education, certifications, and experience. In addition to compensation for salary, you will receive compensation in the form of generous benefits, including, but not limited to:

  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of the work day while working at a desk and on a laptop
  2. Must be comfortable working in an open office environment in close proximity to others and that has a moderate noise level
