The Role   
Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking a Technology Coordinator to join our Technology Group. This dynamic role provides hands-on experience across key technology functions through rotations in  three core areas:

  1. Technology Services ensures the seamless operations of LSC’s comprehensive AV and IT infrastructure, ranging from employee workstations to the cutting-edge specialized technology powering our Planetarium
  2. Enterprise Architecture oversees mission-critical business systems and infrastructure, including our digital presence and bookings platforms, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity monitoring and threat prevention
  3. Earned Revenue Strategy & Execution develops and deploys business intelligence dashboards, data management best practices, and predictive modeling to analyze performance metrics and identify revenue growth opportunities

This position provides a unique opportunity to develop broad technical expertise across multiple technology disciplines while making a direct impact on LSC’s operational excellence, revenue growth and mission. The Coordinator of Technology Group will report to the Vice President of Finance & Revenue and is expected to be an engaged member of the broader LSC work community.

What You’ll Do
Below is an overview of the essential functions of this role. Please note this is not an exhaustive list as you may be asked to complete additional tasks as business needs shift.

Technology ServicesTechnology Services

  1. Onsite IT & AV Support, User Testing & Integration: Provide timely onsite technical support for LSC Board meetings, live events, and guest-related technology, including weekend availability for urgent issues. Monitor and manage AV systems, audio/video feeds, and resolve technical issues to ensure seamless presentations and performances. Conduct pre-event end-to-end testing to ensure full functionality. Integrate AV equipment with IT systems (network infrastructure, control systems, and video conferencing platforms) to optimize event experiences
  2. Help Desk Management & Remote Support Collaboration: Work closely with NAKA (our remote technology support partner) to triage, prioritize, and dispatch support tickets efficiently. Log, track, and document technical issues and resolutions to maintain a seamless troubleshooting process. Continuously enhance the LSC help desk playbook to improve customer service efficiency and quality
  3. System Installation, Maintenance & User Training: Install and configure operating systems and Windows applications, including performing backups and updates for devices like Microsoft/Lenovo laptops, Apple iPads, and Android ticket scanners. Provide training sessions on new software applications and hardware functionalities to ensure users are equipped with the knowledge to effectively use the technology
  4. STEM Technology & Live Science Demonstration Support: Provide educational technology support for the STEM team, ensuring smooth operation of technology during live science demonstrations, including managing audio and visual components

Enterprise Architecture

  1. Critical System Setup & Configuration: Set up, configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot a range of business critical systems (e.g., Tessitura for ticketing, Monday for workflow optimization, GeneTec for security cameras, WordFly for marketing campaigns), ensuring seamless operations across the organization
  2. Network and Cyber Security Management: Oversee and manage network and security infrastructure for key business activities ensuring reliable connectivity and robust performance
  3. Vendor Collaboration & Issue Resolution: Partner with IT vendors and service providers to troubleshoot issues, resolve outages, and maintain optimal system performance

Earned Revenue Strategy & Execution

  1. Data Analytics & Business Intelligence: Drive the design and execution of data analytics and business intelligence strategies to optimize performance across all earned revenue functions
  2. Customer Experience Optimization: Enhance customer experience, engagement, and conversion rates across digital and in-person channels, ensuring seamless interaction and increased revenue opportunities
  3. AI Implementation: Deploy AI-driven solutions to streamline key operational processes and elevate customer-facing experiences, driving efficiency and innovation
  4. Revenue Strategy Support: Develop and maintain advanced models to support and inform strategic revenue decisions, aligning with business goals and performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications and Experience 

  1. College degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or related field of study; combination of education and work experience will be considered
  2. 3+ years of technology-related experience in one or more of the following areas:
    1. System Deployment & Provisioning – Experience configuring and operating deployment/provisioning tools such as PDQ, SmartDeploy, SureMDM, or Apple Simple MDM
    2. Audio-Visual Technology – Skilled in troubleshooting and calibrating audio and video equipment, including projectors, video switchers, soundboards, and microphones
    3. Business Systems & Software Development – Proficient in configuration, analytics, or software development within workflow, booking, website, or social media platforms such as Monday.com, Tessitura, SquareSpace, WebFly, or Meta/Instagram


Classification and Schedule 
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The ideal candidate must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and early mornings as business needs or special events may require. You will be required to work onsite at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, five days per week. When working on certain projects your manager may provide you with the opportunity to work remote.

Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $44,000-$48,000. The final offer is commensurate with the candidate’s skills, education, certifications, and experience. In addition to compensation for salary, you will receive compensation in the form of generous benefits, including, but not limited to:

NOTE: Candidates for this position must be able to perform the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodations.

  1. Onsite Support: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs of equipment (e.g., AV devices, laptops, and other technology tools) to support events and installations
  2. Physical Activity: Intervals of frequent standing, walking, and moving around the organization to provide onsite technical support, assist with equipment setup, and troubleshoot issues in real-time
  3. Technical Installation: Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces (e.g., to install or configure technology equipment, such as audio/visual systems and network infrastructure)
  4. Visual and Manual Dexterity: Requires clear vision and manual dexterity to handle and troubleshoot sensitive technology equipment, such as cables, connectors, and small devices
  5. Event Support Flexibility: Available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and flexible hours to provide support for LSC events, requiring physical presence during setup and troubleshooting phases
  6. Multi-Tasking: Ability to stay focused and perform tasks under pressure, particularly during live events and in fast-paced technology environments
  7. Prolonged Use of Computer Equipment: Sedentary intervals requiring prolonged use of computer systems and other technology, including keyboards and screens, for extended periods to manage systems, analyze data, and collaborate remotely
