Brief Description

The Designated Employer Representative (DER) will be responsible for the administration of the Company s Drug and Alcohol (D&A) program, ensuring compliance with Company policies and Federal Regulation.  Duties also include administrative processing of crew ID's, TSA security programs, and FAA pilot pre-hire background checks. 

The successful candidate will: set high standards of performance for themselves and others; work well in a matrix environment; establish and maintain internal/external relationships; be self-motivated and have the ability to work under stringent deadlines in a team-oriented environment.


  1. Ensures compliance with FAR 135 DOT & FAR 91 Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Program. 
  2. Schedules and implements D&A protocols, pre-hire, and random testing for designated employees.
  3. Coordinates the random program in partnership with third-party vendor based on organizational compliance.
  4. Manages drug and alcohol contract requirements
  5. Provides guidance and support for Fit-for-Duty Training and testing
  6. Conducts reasonable suspicion training and other D&A related training
  7. Reviews and prepares reports and audits, including quarterly and annual statistics
  8. Manages Crew ID program
  9. TSA program administrative duties
  10. FAA PRIA Checks


  1. Prefer College bachelors/associate degree and/or aviation experience
  2. Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to run reports and do analysis
  3. Knowledge of US DOT Drug and alcohol program a plus
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  5. Excellent attention to detail
  6. Demands a high level of organizational skills
  7. Ability to handle significant volume of calls and emails and respond in a timely manner during business and nonbusiness hours of operations
