As a Software Technician I at Minnetronix, you’ll assist in the development or manufacture of products, fixtures, or prototypes while supporting the creation of new Class II/III medical devices. Working with project leaders, engineers, and other technicians, you’ll provide software engineering support. This may comprise building, testing, and qualifying tools, fixtures and prototype assemblies that include software and hardware and performing other tasks as needed. You will be expected to contribute to the team while enhancing your own technical expertise and increasing your responsibilities. We have a broad client base so project assignments will span an array of products of moderate complexity, be broad in nature, and require creativity and innovation towards self-determined, self-directed solutions.      

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work in compliance with the Minnetronix Quality Management System 

  • Embedded design support 

  • Software tool creation, qualification, maintenance, use, and support potentially including, but not limited to: 

    • Work with software engineers to determine SW tool needs 

    • Create and/or assimilate tools as needed 

    • Determine SW tool qualification plans 

    • Perform tool qualifications 

    • Document and ECO release results 

  • Software build support: 

    • Set up Klocwork builds for a project 

    • Set up Jenkins build for a project, which may include creating various build scripts that Jenkins will run 

    • Reproduce software build (manually, Klocwork, Jenkins) 

  • Maintain the SW Manifest unit test tracking tool 

  • Support MntxCore (reusable code within Minnetronix Medical): 

    • Maintain MntxCore wiki  

    • Help with merging project code back into MntxCore 

    • Create example MntxCore projects and collaborate with SW engineers to help with implementation 

  • Create and qualify development VM’s when appropriate 

  • Configure Linux, Windows for target environment 

  • Assist manufacturing, production and/or quality assurance with design transfer activities, builds, inspection, documentation, etc. 

    • Program targets as manufacturing would 

    • Qualify software tools created for manufacturing 

    • Support ECOs  

  • Provide supporting detailed documentation 

    • Create document part numbers 

    • Create software part numbers 

  • Assist with other technical tasks as requested 

  • Support process improvement initiatives  

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Two-year Tech degree or higher preferred 

  • 1-4 years technical experience with a preference for the medical, military and/or avionics industry 

  • Proficient at quickly solving medium-complexity problems 

  • Ability to create and write detailed, compliant technical documents 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Results orientated with a bias for action and timely completion 

  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills 

  • Experience with supporting both development and design transfer preferred
