Role Summary

We are looking for an intern to join the Corporate Accounting team. The Intern will be an integral member of the team who will be responsible for several key areas of the month-end close process and will lead the preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.

This role will be 100% work remote with occasional office time as requested.  Safety is a priority for Global Eagle and no one is mandated to be in office if there is a concern for health.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile key balance sheet accounts ensuring proper supporting documentation
  • Perform and document month-end close procedures in accordance with internal control requirements
  • Analyze and document Income Statement and Balance Sheet fluctuations on a quarterly basis
  • Coordinate with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial information
  • Support the completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits. Prepare audit documentation and key footnote disclosures as requested
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements
  • Perform special projects and any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

Education & Experience

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements
  • Previous experience with ERP systems (Oracle/HFM) is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $18-$20/hour. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, skills, certifications…etc.
