Position: Patient Services Rep/Surgery Scheduler

Description

  • Verify patient benefit information

  • Meet with patients to explain their benefits for pregnancy

  • Set up payment plans

  • Collects patient balances

  • Answer patient calls, resolve billing inquiries

  • Work with coders and our internal billing department to work through questions and problems

  • Schedule surgeries at 5 different facilities.

  • Facilitate prior authorizations for surgeries and in-office procedures

  • Update appropriate provider schedules and calendars

  • Communicate with various departments within the clinic regarding schedules

  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks at time.

  • Must be able to document all activity accurately.

  • Must abide strictly by HIPAA laws by maintaining confidentiality and only accessing information as needed for job required functions.

  • Contributes actively to the setting and achievement of personal and department goals.

  • Must be professional, dependable and have a positive attitude.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma/GED Critical thinking, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.

  • Team player: ability to communicate with others in written and verbal communications.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service

  • Must have outstanding customer service skills, attention to detail and professional communication skills.

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in medical billing and insurances services

  • Must have good communication and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with an Electronic Medical Record.

  • We offer a 4 day work week.

  • Hours are 7:30am-5:00pm.
