Position: Licensed Practical Technician (LPT)

Department: Salem Family Medicine

Qualifications: 

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Licensed Practical Technician* (LPT certified) license required.
  • CPR certification required within 3 months of hire date.
  • PC capability with working knowledge of standard software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Centricity Business and Allscripts experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required.

Description:

  • Acquires Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Vertebral Fracture Assessments (VFAs) and Body Composition Analysis (BCA) measurements skillfully using GE PRODIGY LUNAR dual energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) Bone Densitometer, following procedures in the GE Operator’s Manual
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with the scheduling of tests and treatments.
  • Maintains patient records and other information.
  • Provides courteous and friendly service to all patients and contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Works as needed.
  • Generate and maintain database of BMD, VFA and BCA results and maintain accurate record keeping and patient documentation
  • Complete required forms, analyze scans, prints, files, distribute and/or transmit data to providers in a timely fashion
  • Monitor DEXA machine by performing daily quality controls
  • Schedule annual preventive maintenance for DEXA machine
  • Archive scans on a daily basis
  • Perform height and weight assessment for each visit
  • Responds promptly, professionally and courteously to patient’s needs
  • Provides efficient effective patient care in compliance with clinic policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards
  • Maintains CPR certification
  • Attends meetings as required

Hours: 

  • Monday 8 am – 5 pm
  • Tuesday 8 am – 5 pm
  • Wednesday 1 pm – 5 pm
  • Thursday 8 am – 5 pm
  • Friday 8 am – 5 pm
