Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in dietetics or nutrition.
  • Successful completion of an approved American Dietetic Association (ADA) program
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Certified Dietitian State of Utah 

Description

  • Provides nutritional guidance by assessing the nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health conditions of patients and helps develop and implement dietary-care plans.
  • Teaches classes and provides nutritional counseling to weight management patients to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Consults with physicians, midlevel providers, clinical experts and educators to determine the best nutrition therapy care plan. They are an integral part of the healing team and are able to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
  • Provides explanations for food and nutrition issues
  • Establishes proper meal plans for the patient in accordance with their preference, health, and financial capabilities
  • Evaluates the health and diet needs of patients
  • Calculates patient nutritional requirements
  • Analyzes nutritional content of food
  • Educates other healthcare professionals about food and nutrition
  • Educates the patients about the need for proper dieting, its importance in disease prevention, etc.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm
