Vital Strategies India Services Private Limited, is a private limited company focused on strengthening and revitalizing public health systems through supporting scalable solutions to leading causes of death, disease, and injury. Vital Strategies provides technical assistance, consultation, as well as project management, design and evaluation to a wide range of private and public sector clients, in order to further its mission to improve and save lives, including through non-communicable disease prevention, environmental health and urban health, with specific areas of focus in tobacco control, data for health, road safety and air quality.

Job Purpose:

The Finance Associate is responsible for handling all accounting and banking activities relating to Vital India operations. This position will report functionally to the Financial Controller and coordinate and collaborate with the operations and HR teams. This position will be based out of New Delhi

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting and Audit:

  • Conducts Accounts Payable and Receivable activities, including reviewing for appropriate signatories, necessary documentation and budget codes required for booking expenses/income in relevant profit/cost codes.  [PN1]  [TR2] 
  • Processing employee claims, per-diems & vendor invoices.
  • Enters data into the accounting system (payments, ledgers and vouchers and all other records and book of accounts, on a day-to-day basis)
  • Supports Financial Controller in monthly closing and reporting.
  • Supports Financial Controller in internal and statutory audit, as applicable
  • Supports FC on audit & sensitive issues, liaise with accounting firms, auditors as needed on financial & reporting matters.

Banking and Cash Management:

  • Enters payments into online banking system
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in – monitoring bank account and monthly statements.
  • Balance reconciliation Statements, vendor reconciliations as per articulated processes
  • Supports the Financial Controller in receipt of international transfers, liaising with exchange broker on exchange rates and contracts.
  • Assists  Financial Controller  in banking activities including addition and deletion of signatories, activation of online banking, etc.
  • Supporting - Financial Controller in maintaining/Monitors petty cash and bank balances, to ensure sufficient funds are available.

Compliance Support:

  •  Assist the Financial Controller in timely filing of all statutory returns, assessment and compliance with all local regulations pertaining to a private limited company.
  • Maintains records of compliance such as Audit Reports, Compliances (TDS, GST), statutory filings, Board resolutions & minutes etc.

 Budgeting and Financial Controls:

  • Monitors office finances and effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to Finance Controller
  • Monitors monthly actual to budget variances.
  • Supports - Financial Controller in maintaining organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Supports  Financial Controller  in monthly budget reporting

Other duties as requested by FC.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Commerce, Accounting or Business Administration or any other related field

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 [PN3]  years of relevant experience in the Finance and Accounting function preferably with IT/ Healthcare sectors. 

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • MS office tools (excel, word, PowerPoint) & Proficient in usage of accounting tool viz. ERP package -SAP/Oracle or any other equivalent tool
  • Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills.
  • Good Communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Knowledge of local laws pertaining to Accounting, Tax and other related topics 
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Vital Strategies
  • Collaborative, dedicated team player
  • Knowledge of taxes (TDS, GST and Income tax)

The salary for this position is INR 11,00,000 to INR 14,00,000.
