The Opportunity

Our Design team is seeking two design interns to support Vital Strategies’ Policy, Advocacy and Communication team and the Overdose Prevention Program. As a Design Intern you will be working on content pertaining to Vital Strategies public facing brand – including social media, campaigns, graphics – as well as helping to support the internal needs of the PAC and Design teams, or on content for the Overdose Prevention team. You will join meetings, participate in brainstorms, and execute on projects in a supporting role, as well opportunities to take ownership of projects from ideation to execution.


  1. Support Senior Designers with project needs such as type setting, image manipluation, content or research gathering, and creating presentations
  2. Assist with the concepting, creation and execution of projects for Design and branding
  3. Participate in meetings, brainstorms and other activities with the Design team and PAC team
  4. Gain experience in utilizing time management skills to balance multiple projects while meeting timelines and deadlines.
  5. Gain experience in communication skills by presenting design concepts to Design Team and project stakeholders


Education and Work Experience

  •  Enrolled in an Undergraduate program for Design, in 3rd or 4th year of prog ram 

  Skills and Knowledge

  • Adobe CC Suite  – InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop (AfterEffects + PremierePro a bonus)
  • Basic knowledge of Figma/Sketch is a plus
  • Basic knowledge (or Interest in) Instagram, Canva, Mailchimp and other social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge with production and prepping files for web
