Job Purpose:

The Communications Officer, RTSL is based in Jinan or Beijing and part of a small team. Communications staff at Resolve to Save Lives cover a wide variety of tasks, such as creating written and digital materials for a range of audiences, supporting top-tier media interviews, developing behavior change communication campaigns, managing advocacy and communication partnerships, and developing strategic communications plans to support our team and program goals. The Communications Officer will report to the Communications Manager in China.

Resolve to Save Lives is seeking a Communications Officer to support our China team’s efforts to improve cardiovascular health.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with a designer to develop communications materials, including but not limited to, factsheets, posters, press release that present analysis and recommendations from project reports into digestible communications for target audience.
  • Build a RTSL network of social media channels and a plan for engaging each media channel to maximize communication impact in China. This would include analyzing each media channel’s target audience, developing appropriate media content, and achieving daily operation.
  • Support dissemination strategies for RTSL communications products, including media outreach
  • Collaborate with China team and communications staff on new ideas, directions and venues for RTSL communications
  • Support projects’ related communication events.
  • Help with coordination of interviews and keep media tracking in China.
  • Coordinating and producing RTSL China newsletters twice a year.
  • Daily monitoring of major health policy changes related to cardiovascular health in China and provide timely feedback to the China team via email.
  • Producing RTSL Chinese policy information monthly briefing, including but not limited to public health, cardiovascular health, Chinese medical reform, etc.
  • Perform other assignments to support RTSL China team’s overall communications objectives as needed.


Education and degree

  • A bachelor's degree or above in communications, journalism, PR or a related field.

Skills & abilities:

  • Excellent writing, editing, copywriting, consolidation and proofreading skills in both English and Chinese
  • Outstanding writing skills with sample blogs, social media articles, and/or short essays
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral
  • Good knowledge on media and social media
  • Self-motivated, meticulously organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of Resolve to Save Lives and the communities we serve

Experience required:

  • A minimal 5-year related experience on media/social media/communication related area.

Experience preferred:

  •  Working experience with social media is an advantage.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Travel requirements. Ex. Ability to travel 15% of time.
  • Working Location: Beijing or Jinan
