Overall Role:

Resolve to Save Lives is seeking a Program Assistant to support the maintenance of the LINKS Community, an online platform for resource sharing, networking and dissemination, grant making and implementation of high-impact strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease through hypertension control, sodium reduction, and the elimination of artificial trans fat.

This is a full-time position currently based remotely with plans to be partially remote/partially based in New York City beginning in January 2022.

The Program Assistant will help manage the LINKS program. The Program Assistant’s responsibilities will include: ensuring the development and dissemination of key CVH technical resources with the LINKS community; maintaining the online platform; communicating with LINKS partners and members; and supporting the management of a small grants program designed to catalyze in-country progress on hypertension management, sodium reduction and the elimination of trans fat.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Program Assistant, LINKS will work under the guidance of and report to the Senior Program Manager, LINKS. They will work collaboratively with other members of the CVH team as well as in-country and global implementing partners and with Resolve’s technical consultants. The incumbent will perform duties such as but not limited to the following:

  • Help coordinate a collaborative online platform to support knowledge sharing, training, networking, and access to technical tools and peer-to-peer learning for the reduction of cardiovascular disease
  • Support organization and facilitation of periodic webinars
  • Manage website content to include technical resources, scientific literature, annotated bibliographies
  • Process new membership applications
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of peer-to-peer exchange platforms such as virtual communities of practice, WhatsApp discussion groups and in-country technical support
  • Supporting the Senior Program Manager in soliciting, reviewing, selectively approving, and managing ongoing small grants for country-level activities from governments and organizations in priority low and middle-income countries
  • Assist the Senior Program Manager in maintaining grantee reports and contracts
  • Work closely with implementing partners (such as WHO and CDC) to coordinate planning, execution, and monitoring of activities
  • Work closely with Resolve to Save Lives’ communications team to promote and solicit membership in LINKS as well as develop and disseminate LINKS-related announcements
  • Coordinate with the nutrition and hypertension teams both at headquarters and in-country to support the development of technical resources
  • Additional duties include providing as-needed support to the cardiovascular health team, including support for scheduling meetings and taking notes at meetings

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, public health, or related field
  • At least two years of relevant work experience, ideally in project management
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with basic project management concepts, generic tools and strategies
  • Proficiency with software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; statistical software and graphic design software a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deliver against tight deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for harmonious internal team work and global partnerships across cultures
  • Clear, effective, and highly efficient writing skills
  • Flexible, collaborative work style yet capable of working independently
  • Experience working in low- and middle-income settings or with underserved communities is desirable
  • Proficiency in languages in addition to English a plus
