Vital Strategies is looking for a campaign manager to expose how the tobacco industry is undermining public health around the world. The campaign manager will be dedicated to Vital Strategies’ work with STOP (Stopping Tobacco Organizations and Products), a global industry watchdog.
STOP exposes the tobacco industry’s unethical business practices, attempts to undermine tobacco control, work to derail policy, and efforts to hook a new generation of smokers. STOP is a three-year partnership that includes robust monitoring, research, reporting and communication.
Funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, STOP is comprised of four constituent partners, each offering a unique set of capabilities to the initiative. Vital Strategies’ role within the partnership is to ensure that the watchdog’s research and activities are widely disseminated and used by stakeholders such as journalists, national policymakers and the global tobacco control community.
The Campaign Manager will drive integrated communication strategies aligned with campaign themes, with an emphasis on media relations, digital communications, stakeholder engagement and strategic advertising. Reporting to the Director of the STOP partnership at Vital, the Campaign Manager will work closely with the Vital team on campaign planning, message development, announcement strategy, social media campaigns, digital marketing and event strategy. The Campaign Manager will liaise with communication staff from the four partner organizations to ensure alignment on strategies and content.
