The San Antonio River Authority (SARA) Site Manager oversees all production, retail and operational aspects of the SARA site. This position manages the Garden-Ville store operations, oversees the processing and production of materials, dispatching of trucks, completing store & site paperwork and compliance reports, as well as managing the employees.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage and direct production and retail staff.
Make operational decisions on the company’s behalf.
Hire, train and supervise employees.
Submit weekly timecards and Paid Time Off (PTO) approvals to payroll.
Complete annual employee performance evaluations.
Make sure the facility is staffed and open on time for business.
Ensure the facility is regularly cleaned and maintained, including warehouse and equipment.
Prepare a work schedule with shifts, hours and tasks to be accomplished.
Set and assign daily production levels and weekly production goals.
Develop and maintain a site plan to minimize transportation and product loss.
Create daily site maintenance plan to reduce problems with roads, pad conditions, water shed, etc.
Maintain accurate production reporting, accounting and regulatory records and logs.
Optimize merchandise placements.
Conduct inventory audits and maintain stock at an appropriate level.
Schedule and dispatch trucks.
Complete and submit daily reports on sales, product transfers, cash reconciliations, production, windrow monitoring and rainfall or storm reports.
Reconcile cash registers at the end of the employee shifts and resolve discrepancies.
Submit vehicle condition reports (VCRs) and schedule preventative maintenance.
Notify the Operations Manager of theft or other site issues.
Perform a regular facility hazard assessment and ensure compliance with company safety policies and with OSHA regulations.
Maintain records and submit reports on water usage, diesel purchase and usage, fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide compliance.
Ensure Stormwater Treatment Ares (STA) compliance for Leon Creek, Texas Organic Products (TOP), Victoria composting facilities and San Antonio River Authority (SARA).
Conduct and/or participate in safety meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Minimum of two years experience in a production operation and two years experience in a management position. Directly-related industry experience may be substituted for the management experience requirement, year for year with a maximum substitution of 1 year;
Experience and ability managing operations within an established budget;
Knowledge of TCEQ compliance requirements and regulations;
Ability to operate loaders, forklifts and other heavy equipment;
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook;
Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems;
Problem-solving ability; and
Effective leadership and training skills.
Degree in Environmental Sciences or related field;
A valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License – Class C
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
Certified Composting Manager Certificate, must earn within 1 year of hire
