OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION
In this position the Material Planner is responsible to:
- Ensure appropriate supply of raw materials, consumable goods and expense items for Manufacturing and Distribution sites.
- Ensure replenishment of required materials in accordance with manufacturing schedules and demands.
- Coordinate with internal departments and manage external stakeholders’ relations.
- Communicate in a proactive and efficient way at all levels within the organization.
TASKS
Material replenishment & Sourcing:
- Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials to meet production’s schedule.
- Determine the required materials and generate purchase orders according to company’s procedures and policies.
- Ensure materials meet specifications, quality standards and are cost-efficient.
- Monitor inventory levels and indicators proactively.
- Continually maintain up to date planning parameters.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time deliveries of orders and communicate accordingly to operations.
- Coordinate with vendors in the event of an issue and complete nonconformance reports.
- Follow up with vendors on back-orders and notify operations of any potential impact.
Part Number:
- Ensure part number creation and maintenance of data in the eQMS and ERP system in accordance with company’s procedures and policies.
- Launch creation, modification or obsoletion requests of part number in the eQMS.
- Ensure accurate follow-up of the request’s status in the eQMS and proceed with required updates in the ERP system.
Purchasing & Supplier Management:
- Create PO requisition and collect approvals according to company’s rules and policies.
- Manage vendors' creation, collecting required documentation and submitting it for approval in the eQMS if required.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Education:
Personality:
- Hands-on experience planning for manufacturing material
- Good communication skills at all levels. Adaptability. Ability to work autonomously. Analytical mind-set
- Result orientation and strong ability of solving problems through the application of Lean principles.
- Collaborative and Team Oriented, Customer focused and demonstrate a high sense of urgency.
- Aptitude in decision making and working with numbers.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high pressure and sometimes fast paced environment
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in material planning
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with an ERP in a multi-warehouse’ environment.
- Strong computer skills, windows package and especially excel skills are required
Special Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of planning and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
