Project Supply Chain Manager

We are currently recruiting a Project Supply Chain Manager to join our Supply Chain Team.

This is a remote position open to candidates globally.

About the Opportunity.

RI has recently entered into a partnership with Takeda Pharmaceuticals, to implement a four-year project medical supply chain project. This project will focus on building the capacity of 20 local pharmaceutical and medical device suppliers in four countries where Relief International (RI) has existing programming: Afghanistan, Yemen, Myanmar, and Syria.

Working in close collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager and Project Director, the Supply Chain Manager will be part of the core project team, to support activities of the project deliverables.

Your responsibilities will be

·    Being part of the core project team.

·    Ensuring project objectives are met through close collaboration with and managing the country project teams and sub-contractors in the 4 countries

·    Lead on engagement with national supply chain stakeholders to ensure and enable buy-in and support for the project and its sustainability post project.

·    Champion engagement with national and international peer procurement and supply chain departments to ensure their understanding, buy-in and support for the project (iNGOs, Logistics Cluster, aid procurement agencies, UN stakeholders, donors, private sector partners, etc.) 

·    Engage with other iNGO’s, donors and private sector partners active in procurement of medical products in the target countries to create common procurement platforms.

·    In collaboration with the sub-contractor(s), lead on the selection of local suppliers in the target countries , and to ensure their approaches and activities enable sustainable local medical supply sourcing  

·    Monitor, report and review the performance (of the country projects) with the project team 

·    Lead on revising RIs medical sourcing strategies for the target countries, and RIs medical sourcing processes to enable more local quality assured medical sourcing 

·    Support sub-contractor activities as agreed in the sub-contractor agreement.

·    Ensure  regular reviews and assessments of sub-contractor work and progress and input into project reports are done at country level and reported and reviewed with the core project team 

·    Use the experience, best practices and lessons learned for the country projects, and in collaboration with the project research lead, design global medical supply chain & procurement strategies/models that can be integrated into aid sector procurement policies and units to enable local medical procurement 

About You.

You will bring the following experience and skills.

·    A supply chain, procurement or medical procurement professional qualification from a recognized institution, OR relevant working experience with international medical supply chains, preferably in a donor driven, humanitarian context. 

·    Proven experience with projects that have large medical supply components in complex contexts  

·    Capable in managing, monitoring and reporting on project progress, qualitative and quantitative 

·    Knowledge of donor and other international medical quality assurance standards 

·    Experience of different medical procurement policies & strategies adopted by donors and iNGO’s 

·    Understanding of medical product quality assurance certification 

·    Demonstrated ability to work with remote management approaches and achieve results toward a common goal.   

·    Able to coordinate programs with a technical scope similar to the activity, especially focusing on medical supply chain.  

·    Have leadership skills in working collaboratively with donors, host country institutions, and international organizations.  

·    Proven ability to speak and communicate effectively, and to tailor messages to different audiences. 

·    Record of accomplishment of successfully operating in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and technical areas. 

·    Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy-in. 

·    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities, meeting deadlines. 

·    Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in English required.
