The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible to supervise the work of the Room Attendant, to ensure that guest rooms, corridors, stairways are clean, tidy attractive and up to the Hotel standard.  The Housekeeping Supervisor need to meet guest and ensure that all their request are being dealt with accordingly.


Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. The holder of this position may, at any time, be called to perform any other cognate duties at the request of management.

  • Supervise the activities of all Housekeeping Assistants to ensure clean and well maintained guest rooms, corridors and service areas as per standard.
  • Be responsible for checking that Housekeeping Assistants have satisfactorily completed work assigned to them by completing their worksheet before going off duty.
  • Check all rooms on section allocated to make sure that they have been prepared and presented as per the Hotel’s Standard.
  • Ensure that any breakdown of equipment are immediately reported and dealt with efficiently.
  • Is responsible for the smooth running of the Laundry section during the absence of Housekeeper – Accommodation Manager.
  • Ensure that standards of excellence in customer service are maintained and regularly updated. (Linen provided is clean and to the hotel standard).
  • Provide customer service as per the standards of the Hotel.
  • Ensure that the delivery of uniform is carries out smoothly.
  • Liaise with the Housekeeper – Accommodation Manager to ensure that incoming guests’ requirements are met.
  • Deal with all guests’ queries and complaints swiftly and efficiently.
  • Manage stock of pantry and trolley for designated area.
  • Participate in various housekeeping inventory.
  • Attend and provide input in the Housekeeping meetings, act on any special instruction and pass on any relevant information.
  • Ensure that team members have all information to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure that all sections have the appropriate staffing levels for efficient operations while achieving set employee productivity target.
  • To monitor staff morale to ensure that the team member is always in an appropriate state of discipline, motivation and commitment to the objectives of the company at all times.
  • Identify and ensure that the team member receive appropriate and adequate training in order to achieve the desirable level of performance.
  • Enforce adherence to any policy of the department and hotel.
  • Train new team members according to standard of the hotel.
  • Report any disciplinary and grievance matters to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensures that a safe, hygienically fit working environment is maintained at all times and reports any concerns or faults immediately.
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy 
  • Promote energy efficiency and environment friendly actions
  • Participate in training as and when required my Management
  • Maintains highest levels of personal hygiene and grooming at all times, as per standard.


  • SC or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry in a similar position
  • Good communication skills
  • Outgoing and pleasant personality
  • Team Player
  • Tact and diplomacy for dealing with demanding customers
  • Having a flexible approach to work
