Concrete Mixer Truck Driver
 
Summary
The purpose of this job is to operate a concrete mixer safely, productively, and efficiently. This job requires hauling and delivering concrete to customers and job sites, conducting routine inspections of equipment, safe operation, acceptable driving history, and both on-road and off-road driving situations.
 
Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary. 
  • Proficiently operate a CDL required truck in a safe and productive manner.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
  • Perform a daily walk-around inspection and comply with preventive maintenance responsibilities.
  • Follow all the policies set forth by Blalock Companies as it relates to operating on-the-road heavy trucks
  • Perform job responsibilities safely in a busy and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Able to work hours as needed by the work schedule put out by a directing supervisor.
  • Understand the value of teamwork and communications.
  • Performs any or all duties assigned to less skilled employees and other job-related duties as assigned the field supervisor
Requirements
Prior to starting work an employee must
  • be at least  21 years of age
  • Experience driving a concrete mixer is preferred
  • must meet standard for DOT physical examination and DOT drug screen
  • must meet Company standards for motor vehicle report and driving record.
  • comply with work references and criminal background check
  • comply with I9 and EVerify requirements
  • complete all elements of employment processing
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to
  • Must maintain a State of Tennessee driver's license at a class required for the truck assigned
  • demonstrate the ability to perform work tasks production/quality level set by the Company
  • demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • demonstrate the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the general public
  • demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • demonstrate the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • demonstrate the ability to perform all work in a safe manner
  • demonstrate the ability to wear and maintain Personal Protect Equipment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to
continually stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, bend, crawl and climb
  • continually use verbal communications (speech/hearing)
  • continually have a full range of motion for arms, hands and fingers
  • continually demonstrate visual acuity, depth perception, color perception, peripheral vision
  • continually demonstrate ability to continually lift and move weights of 15 to 25 pounds
  • intermittently demonstrate ability to lift and move weights of 50 pounds
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is intermittently required to
  • work 12 hours per day
  • work weekends and holidays
  • work all types of weather and ground conditions
  • Employee selection gives preference to related construction experience and work related education
