Autonomy Engineer

Summary:

Position open to Swiss and EU/EFTA citizens or holders of Swiss work permits.

Responsibilities:

· The Autonomy Engineer contributes to conceptualizing, designing, building, testing, and demonstrating autonomous system prototypes in dynamic simulation, controlled lab settings, hardware-in-the-loop aircraft simulations, and in flight on full-scale aircraft.

· This is primarily a software-oriented role but integrating with hardware systems is a vital aspect of the job.

· Occasional travel may be required

· Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be required to support testing and experiments or travel to customer sites

Minimum Requirements:

· 5 – 7 years’ relevant experience.

· Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or applied science field.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in teams.

· Excellent problem solving and general engineering skills.

· Demonstrated interest and capability in designing and implementing complex software systems.

· Experience using multiple of the following languages: C++, Python, C, Matlab, Simulink.

· Interest and understanding of key aspects of autonomous systems function, design, and implementation considerations.

· Expertise in at least one of the following areas and experience in others:

-        AI/ML for perception or autonomy applications

-        Numerical methods and computations

-        Route/path planning and optimization

-        State estimation and tracking applications

-        Simulation and testing

-        Software integration for hardware and flight tests

Desired Requirements:

· Experience working in an Agile development environment

· DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous development

· Engineering team leadership experience.
