NVR, Inc. is seeking Business Analyst to work on site in Reston, VA

As a Business Analyst working with our Human Resources Team, you'll use your skills to organize work, improve processes, and create systems. This will help us enhance our employees' experience and enable our company’s growth. Our employees play a crucial role in delivering new homes to thousands of families annually under our brands - Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Heartland Homes.

What You’ll Do

A good Business Analyst is like a multi-tool and should be leveraged in many ways. Below is just a summary of the types of functions we will ask you to perform, but there will be additional opportunities to support the Human Resources Team:

  • Learn about our business, our 6,000+ employees and the roles they hold within NVR, as well as NVR’s philosophy when approaching a project.
  • Bridge the gap between IT and HR using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
  • Document and standardize Human Resources and Payroll processes and procedures, identify gaps, and suggest improvements.
  • Manage Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes on all work efforts ensuring thorough testing and validation of change.
  • Lead and manage small projects related to organizational effectiveness, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Troubleshoot and support ad hoc requests received from colleagues.
  • Create a relationship with our HRIS Vendors and stay up to date on the latest system advancements.

What Skills and Experiences are Required

  • Empathy – you absolutely must possess this to be successful on our team.
  • 7+ years of professional work experience with at least 3 years working as a Business Analyst.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to develop relationships and engage in business dialogue with internal clients to understand and address their needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation with the desire to continuously learn and expand knowledge.
  • History of success working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Drive for results with the ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities.

What Puts you Ahead of the Pack

The skills above are required, but the ones below will give you a leg up on your competition:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Technology, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Human Resource and/or Payroll systems.
  • Formal Human Resources training or related experience working with sensitive data.
  • Extensive experience with Office 365 and Teams.
  • Experience working with other collaboration tools like Jira
