Over the course of 10-12 weeks, as an R&D Intern, you'll work in our Headquarters located in located in Garner, NC. You’ll provide an encompassing experience through a variety of projects that support our business within the Research & Development Team. 

The program’s primary objective is to grow future leaders by providing professional development and a series of assignments that aligns with professional interest within the processing and manufacturing industry. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Become familiar with the product development lifecycle and Stage Gate project management system
  • Gain understanding of product production processes through production line tour and audit
  • Gain project management experience with New Products, Process Improvement projects
  • Execute a continuous improvement project (savings or operational efficiency)
  • Learn to design and execute a production test in the production environment. 
  • Review your test findings key internal stakeholders for approval

You'll need to be a team player, ready to roll up your sleeves and get things done. Think you have what it takes to make a delicious difference? 

  • Pursuing a Bachelors, Master or PhD in Food Science, Poultry, Animal or Food Science or related field an expected graduation date of December 2025 through June 2026
  • Proficiency in math and background in statistics 
  • Interest in poultry/meat food manufacturing 
  • Previous coursework on lean and or lean Six Sigma practices 
  • Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
