OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION

 

                  Maintains the correct functioning of the IT infrastructure of STAAR Surgical AG.

                  Provides 1st and 2nd Level support for STAAR Surgical AG

                  Is available during normal office hours for any IT related support requests and provides on-call service out of office hours and on weekend’s

                  Provides service in projects which need IT support

                  Helps to achieve the Compliance Levels for applicable regulations and standards (i.e., EU GDPR, ISO, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, IEEE, etc.).

 

TASKS

 

IT Infrastructure

·        Maintains IT related infrastructure (Clients, Servers, VoIP, Power)

·        Monitors all IT components to maintain a stable IT infrastructure

·        Maintains all computer hardware, cabling and wiring

·        Maintains all IT installations

·        Helps to maintain all security related infrastructure (VPN Accesses, Mail Filters, Internet usage etc.)

·        Helps with the Documentation of all IT processes, configurations and reports

·        Maintains all replacement- spare equipment (cables, adapters etc.)

 

IT Security

·        Helps on maintaining an up to date Virus Protection

·        Helps to analyze and reports all security non- conformities

 

Support

·        Provides IT Support (1st and 2nd Level) for all provided IT products (Microsoft Office and OS’s), Mail Systen (MS Exchange and Google), Infoflo, Windream, Mobatime, etc.

·        Runs weekly sales reports

·        Reports extended IT Support issues on a department level and reports these issues with the department leader

 

Education

·        Performs User education (MS Products)

·        Helps to analyze IT education needs and recommends education plans

·        Helps to enforce and educates IT related security policies

 

Security

·        Daily checks of the Backups (Fills in the Backup Checker)

·        Daily checks of the Event Logs (Fills in the Event Log Checker)

·        Daily scheduling and verifying execution of the scheduler (Fills in the Scheduler Check)

·        Performs data restores (if requested)

 

Projects/Replacement

·        Helps in ongoing IT related projects

·        Acts as back up for other IT team members

 

 

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

 

     Education:                                      Technical or commercial Apprenticeship

 

Special Knowledge:                       Communication skills in English.

Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Windows based desktop and server applications (i.e., MS Office, AD, IS, SQL, VoIP etc.)

Knowledge of UNIX or Linux operating system is a plus Technically proficient in computer related hardware required for troubleshooting problems with desktops, laptops, printers, networking equipment, and other related systems.
