The Technical Specialist for Networking and Partner Communication will work with key partners and stakeholders to advance the Tobacco Control Division’s objectives in-country. This role will facilitate coordination and collaboration between partners and country stakeholders and serve as the Division’s representative for partner working groups and campaigns. The Technical Specialist will support the development of new communication tools that directly support country actions and work with internal teams to share insights, interventions and other communication materials with key stakeholders.

The salary for this position is in the range of INR 18,00,000 to INR 20,00,000. This is a full-time position based in our New Delhi office, where a hybrid, 4-day-per-week office schedule is in place.
Job Purpose
The Technical Specialist for Networking and Partner Communication will work with key partners and stakeholders to advance the Tobacco Control Division’s objectives in-country. This role will facilitate coordination and collaboration between partners and country stakeholders and serve as the Division’s representative for partner working groups and campaigns. The Technical Specialist will support the development of new communication tools that directly support country actions and work with internal teams to share insights, interventions and other communication materials with key stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
Networking & Partnerships
· With guidance from the Deputy Director, Tobacco Control, work with key partners including the focal point National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) at MoHFW to identify and advance agreed upon strategies to advance program objectives
· Facilitate coordination and collaboration between partners and country stakeholders:
o Communicate regularly with country partners about the Division’s resources and activities
o Serve as Vital Strategies Tobacco Control Division representative for partner working groups and campaigns as assigned
· Support outreach efforts to connect with the tobacco control focal points/nodal officers within national institutes of health, educational institutions, and ministries to collaborate with Vital Strategies on advancing joint tobacco control initiatives
Coordination and Communication
· Attend relevant meetings and conferences, and internally distribute findings and other pertinent communication materials
· Work with internal teams to share insights, interventions and other communication material with a variety of stakeholders including Central and State Governments, UN agencies, WHO, NGOs, CSO and others.
· Support the development of new tools that directly support country actions and adapt existing resources for country utilization (e.g. letters, policy briefs, factsheets, guidelines, etc.).
· Facilitate communication, networking and partnership sessions at national events/trainings for advancing and strengthening tobacco control in India.
· Coordinate dissemination of research and evaluation activities undertaken by the TCD.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or Public Relations or in Public Health or Public Policy. Master’s degree preferred.
· Minimum 6 years of relevant experience

· Proficiency in establishing and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, international organizations, and community groups.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, influence stakeholders, and articulate complex concepts clearly.
· Ability to identify partnership opportunities and cultivate strategic alliances to advance organizational goals.
· Strong team player with experience in coordinating efforts across departments or organizations to achieve shared objectives.
· Ability to navigate cultural and political sensitivities when interacting with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and contexts.
· Aptitude for identifying challenges, developing solutions, and implementing strategies to overcome obstacles in networking and partnership activities.
