Position:                    Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing

Department:              Lundy Fetterman School of Business

Status:                       Full Time

 

Position Summary:

Teaching in the marketing discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels; providing service to the department, school, and university; to be active in their field both within the academy and the business community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches Marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Teaches courses on Main Campus, at the Raleigh Campus, and online
  • Formally advises students
  • Stays current in the Marketing discipline and crafts new courses reflecting marketing in today’s business environment
  • Takes a leadership role in developing and growing the Marketing major
  • Encourages Marketing majors to participate in external events, competitions, and internships
  • Works closely with the LFSB Director of Career Services to prepare students for internships and permanent positions, as well as takes the lead in cultivating prospective employers
  • Designs and delivers professional development offerings to the business community
  • Actively participates in LFSB programs, events, and activities

Education/Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in business; Ph.D. in Marketing desired.
  • Experience in teaching at the university level, including online delivery
  • Experience in the private business sector desired
  • Experience in delivering professional education programs desired
  • Active in academic research, with an identifiable research stream desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to deliver a variety of marketing discipline courses
  • Knowledge and fluency with digital marketing and marketing analytics
  • Ability to conduct training is sales and marketing to business community
  • Strong affinity and commitment to student engagement
  • Interest and skills for applying technology to marketing discipline
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with utilizing/administering social media platforms used for marketing applications.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, respect, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively within a diverse team.
  • Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines.
  • Confidentiality in maintaining student records and information.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
