Position:                       Admissions Coordinator for the School of Engineering

Position Summary: 

Responsible for maximizing new student enrollment in Engineering programs. Partners with the Dean, faculty, and staff of the School of Engineering as well as Enrollment Services. Primary functions include admissions counseling with prospective students and parents whose primary interest is in enrolling in the School of Engineering, standard recruiting activities both on and off campus, and general office duties for a range of applicants including transfers, re-enrolling students, freshmen, and second-degree candidates for the School of Engineering. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct evaluation of preliminary transferability of credit, in collaboration with the Director of Student Success.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the academic, social, and spiritual composition of Campbell University and Engineering.
  • In cooperation with each student’s admissions and financial aid counselors, manage and cultivate the enrollment of new undergraduate and transfer students into Engineering, including local high school outreach, local educational and student organizations and academic fairs relevant to Engineering and related fields. 
  • Collaborate with the Dean and Director of Student Success in setting new student and transfer Engineering new student enrollment goals and monitoring of progress toward goals.
  • Knowledgeable of all functions related to the Admissions CRM – the system used to manage communication and application status with all Engineering prospects and applicants.
  • Co-facilitate with the Director of Student Success on Engineering-focused events (workshops, camps, etc.), both on campus and off campus, for PK12 and community college groups and other organizations. Ensure student leads are captured in Admissions CRM software.
  • Attend various Engineering related college fairs and, in coordination with the Director of Student Success, support specific yield efforts specifically related to faculty interaction with admitted freshmen and transfers.
  • Facilitate daily admission appointments and information for prospective students interested in Engineering.
  • Partner with the admissions campus visits team for enhanced daily individual and group visits involving the School of Engineering.
  • Coordinate all class observation requests with the Administrative Manager for the School of Engineering or their designee.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Success on programs and events sponsored by Engineering and the Office of Admissions, including Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Student Success regarding faculty engagement with prospects and applicants for the School of Engineering.
  • Collaborate as requested by the Dean on the creation of marketing pieces for prospective School of Engineering students.
  • Participate in marketing planning discussions for Engineering. 
  • Collaborate as requested by the Dean in designing and procuring promotional items and informational materials used by Engineering.
  • Meet regularly with the School of Engineering Dean, staff, and faculty to report on recruitment progress, evaluation of strategies, etc.
  • Stay up to date on all projects, research, competitions, awards, etc. by current Engineering students and faculty.
  • Support coordination of the virtual presence of Engineering through the Engineering website and social media outlets in partnership with the School of Engineering and applicable Admissions and Marketing colleagues.
  • Support, as requested by the Dean, the updating and revising of Engineering webpages to include links to accreditations, awards, student accomplishments, faculty biographies and accomplishments, pictures from events, upcoming events, and degree requirements.
  • Use social media and other electronic means to promote Engineering events and student, faculty, and alumni accomplishments.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement teams and initiatives.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Work some evenings and weekends.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; FERPA and other state and federal mandates.

Education/Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years of professional experience preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology 
  • Familiarity with/Knowledgeable regarding Microsoft products, Outlook, Power Point, and other common office technologies.  
  • Familiarity with/Proficiency in/Advanced skills using/administering social media platforms
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public (including prospective students, families, and other educational partners)
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise independent/good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict/set deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a changing environment 
  • Ability to work evening or weekend hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel periodically (including day and overnight trips) as needed.
