At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Material Control Technician to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Prepare materials for shipment or production, including identification.
- Monitor and pull material from freezers as needed to support production. Complete records and transactions for all frozen materials.
- Ensure material transactions are completed in the ERP system for internal and external material movements and consumption.
- Work closely with the Operations, Programs, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure all material needs are met on a timely basis.
- Execute cycle counts.
- Handle the entire life cycle of material, including monitoring expiration dates, shortages, and other pertinent information.
- Kit materials for use in assembly cells.
- Comply with and enforce good housekeeping, all quality procedures, FOD prevention, and safety policies.
- Operate forklift or crane as required.
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED).
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and computer skills
- Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel and Outlook
- Must be a US Person.
- 1+ Years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Skills to drive a pickup truck and gooseneck trailer.
- Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Sit at a desk and complete work on a computer.
- Work onsite in Columbus, MS.
