Truman Health Services is a NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home which provides the highest level of care and latest treatment options for New Mexicans living with HIV, requiring gender services or seeking PrEP. We offer a variety of treatment services utilizing a holistic approach towards supporting our patients’ medical, social and mental health needs. Truman Health Services is seeking an experienced candidate to join our Medical Assistant Team on a PRN basis.
Truman Health Services is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work on a PRN basis as a Medical Assistant in a busy outpatient clinic setting. PRN Medical Assistants will be working directly with the team to cover clinics and the onsite lab as well as work at the front desk staff as needed. Persons hired will work on an average of 20 hours or less a week and will not have guaranteed hours.
This PRN position as Medical Assistant at Truman Health Services is ideal for a person who enjoys a flexible schedule, a variety of job duties and works well in a team-based, patient-centered setting.

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of administrative and clinical Medical Assistant functions in a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic including but not limited to direct service to patients either by phone or in person by conducting patient registration, verifying demographics, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefit/eligibility information, obtaining referral and prior authorizations with insurance carriers, performing patient check in/check out, and collecting co-pays. Collects patient data and/or medical history and performs routine Medical Assistant functions.

Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant Program Graduate Certificate. Current Registered or Certified Medical Assistant and current BLS certification. 2 years directly related experience.
Addenda: May be required to obtain IV Certification dependent on work location. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
