Online applications are stored on a secure site. Only authorized employees and hiring authorities have access to the information submitted.
When completing the application provide your full legal name (as it appears on your government issued ID) and correct address. It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. Education is accepted only from institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA (Council for Higher Education Accreditation). All applications, including those for promotional and transfer positions, must be completed in their entirety. Failure to give complete and accurate information, including personal information, dates of employment and salary history, will result in your application being disqualified. A resume' may be attached only as additional information and will not be accepted in lieu of completing each part of the application.
General Information: Employees typically begin their county employment at the minimum salary specified for the class. Salary increments are based on merit. Recency of experience may be a determining factor.
Benefits: 15 days vacation; 13 days sick leave; 10 paid holidays and merit salary increases, subject to funding; medical group insurance options; pension plan; opportunities for promotion; deferred compensation plan.
Physical Ability: Successful completion of a job related physical examination by a County Examining Physician is required. Work Schedule: Employees may be required to regularly work on various shifts, weekends and/or holidays as deemed necessary by the employing department.

The Police Officer salary begins at $39,295; candidates with a four year degree, $41,260; and advanced pay for Certified Officers with two years’ experience, $42,583. Benefits include group insurance, a competitive pension plan, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation and sick days, deferred compensation plan and opportunities for career advancement. Montgomery G.I. Bill Program for applicants who qualify.
